Project / Acquistion Architecture (PA)

TThe Project / Acquisition Architecture (PA) identifies top-level tasks in the acquisition process. It helps decision-makers understand how resources, assets and capabilities are acquired during the life of the project. Further, it gives them the ability to perform analysis to determine if resources can be obtained, if they are available in the time they are needed, and the overall effect on the schedule. The PA supports acquisition program dependencies, timelines, and different aspects of a capability that need to be brought together to create a real operational capability. They describe programmatic details, including dependencies between projects and capability integration across all aspects of an operational capability.

The PA shows the timescale for delivery of each project and demonstrates the progressive maturity of each project across all aspects of an operational capability. It can further be used to analyze the impacts of changes to elements within the program.
